The gravel pits of Otley Wetland Nature Reserve have produced many outstanding records over the past 10 years. Entry however, is private, though much of the area can be viewed from the road on the Northern edge of the Reserve.
Otley Gravel Pits is spilt into two sections with the area around the reedbed particularly productive in the summer months and the area around the feeding station more of an all year round site.
General Mist Netting takes place at these sites.
Some Species caught and processed are:
Kingfisher, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Willow Warbler, Chiff Chaff, Garden Warbler,Blackcap, Reed Bunting, Chaffinch, Siskin, Bullfinch, Blue Tit , Gt Tit, Long tailed Tit, Willow Tit, Coal Tit, Wren, Dunnock, Robin, Goldcrest, Sparrowhawk, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Redwing, Water Rail.
